Fran Vasquez is a self-taught artist, who depicts, in his own singular style the flora and fauna of the Talamanca Mountain’s Caribbean slope. Fran’s rich oil paintings resonate with the love of his homeland in a style that is distinctively primitive. All who have been to the coastal villages of Cahuita, Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo in Costa Rica, will recognize Vásquez’s paintings as he does many local murals and signs in his particular style.
