Anthropomorphic Pottery Basin

Called a ‘rondel’, this pottery basin has anthropomorphic figures forming the four supports – a piece whose influences show designs from Costa Rica’s Caribbean watershed, as well as the Gran Nicoya archeological area.  Features include well proportioned human forms, a lustrous polished finish and decoration consisting of the typical polychrome finish of so many pottery examples from Guanacaste.
