Jaguar Incense Burner

A typical Nicoya ‘effigy incense burner’ celebrating the mighty jaguar, plus symbolic references to the crocodile (seen as repeated ‘bumps’ covering certain zones on the surface of this two-part incensario (incense burner). This object must have been of particular importance for these societies according to the multiple archeological finds of this pottery form.
