This decorative mask’s design corresponds to the traditional diablo mask-type used by the Brunka tribe to represent themselves in their centuries-old Danza de los Diablitos. The antagonist, the toro (bull), represents the invading Spanish. Created in a lovely cut of ronron wood, a tropical hardwood. Gorgeously carved, this mask features the typical Brunka diablo with a gracefully rendered owl in its chin – a very traditional touch. A fine piece for wall art decor.
