This ceremonial Brunka mask participated in the tribe’s annual ceremonial, Danza de los Diablitos of 2012-2013 in the village of Boruca. It is carved from balsa wood and painted using softer colors of green and tan with fine detailed design. An example of outrageous and demonic facial features which can border on the humourous such as horns sticking into mask’s own mouth as seen here!
Includes valuable photo-documentation of this mask being worn in the danza.
