This classic Brunka tribal mask was worn in the Danza de los Diablitos of 2010-2011 in the Brunka village of Boruca. Carved from one piece of balsa wood, the mask features the classic diablo, or devil, symbolizing the Native people, with ‘auxiliary’ diablos down the sides of the mask. A flap of cow hide as a ‘beard’ hangs down from its chin. Mask sold with accompanying photo documentation of its use during the traditional tribal event.
