Our folk art and popular arts collection includes carefully selected arts and craft traditions of Costa Rica. This varied category of the Namu collection includes, among other sources, creations from family workshops, artist collectives, ‘primitive art’, or naïf, painters, wood cut prints, and products that come out of community projects. Galería Namu’s folkloric, or popular arts, category also showcases afro-Caribbean expression and the celebrated art naïf traditions for which the Solentiname islanders of Nicaragua are known.
