Hand Carved Wood

The Marroquín family of Costa Rica’s central valley, are creating unique carved wood art in their home workshop with an eye for using endangered tropical hardwoods without being part of Central America’s deforestation issue. All of these gorgeous and specially selected wood carvings are salvaged pieces of valued hardwoods found among old fence posts, building materials and downed branches that naturally occur in forested areas. Each hand carved wood piece, including wooden bowls, are made without lathes or wood turning machinery!
