Jade

In Costa Rica there are only two people who know how to carve real jade (jadeite). This would be due to the relative scarceness of authentic jade, the hardness of the material, and thus the difficulty in sculpting it, and the skill required to re-create, convincingly, the aesthetic seen in the original pieces. These museum quality reproductions of the original Pre-Columbian jade amulets seen in the collections of Costa Rica’s national museums, are faithful copies created in authentic Central American jade.
