‘La Ninguenta’ Costa Rican Luck Charm
This theme of Fernandez’s, the artist, is the well-known Costa Rican Ninguenta – a little curly haired girl taking a nigua (a tiny parasite that can lodge in the sole of one’s foot for walking barefoot near domesticated farm animals) out of her foot. This art piece, to be hung on a wall, is hand painted/kiln fired on ceramic tile, surrounded by tile mosaic and framed. The Ninguenta is a Costa Rican good luck charm to spread the good luck to households everywhere!
