Traditional and authentic Kuna mola (layered and hand quilted blouse panel); this mola – previously-worn, sewn on the blouse of a Kuna woman – combines the older geometric patterning with botanical/zoological/esoteric representation. This ‘keyhole’ form (or upsidedown, a pineapple form) is most interesting, but alas, at times, for the non-Kuna, interpreting these motifs can be near impossible!
