Description
Kuna Mola Blouse
Difficult to acquire, authentic Kuna woman’s mola blouse, this traditional woman’s blouse, with an illustrative mola pattern (on both sides of this garment as per tradition), is a key part of traditional Kuna women’s dress still used today. Featured in this quilting compostion are, apparently, important elements in certain healing rites using the dual incense burners, musical instruments and botanical medicine. Pairs and duality are sacred notions for the traditional Kuna, according to their ancient cosmology, and in mola art these concepts are readily apparent.
