Traditional Wood Drum
Traditional Maleku hand carved balsa wood drum with a head of iguana skin. Used by the Maleku to date, these pieces have been created as an art object and function as a musical instrument. The striking painted design features brightly painted native flora and fauna. A cord is tied on to place around one’s shoulder allowing the instrument to hang in a comfortable position for drumming.
