Bark Art
This particular ‘primitive’ bark art work created by the Ngobe-Buglé (Guaymí) tribe in Southern Costa Rica have maintained the knowledge of creating fiber (used traditionally for bedding and clothing) from balsa tree bark. With this hand made fiber cloth the tribe is now creating painted panels, applying natural dye colours to the light hued cloth, depicting their natural surroundings, life ways, history and esoteric symbols.
