Mayan Style Jade Tube
This unique and authentic Central American jade piece is a Mayan-style jade tube that, in its epoch, would have been one among several such pieces strung in a glorious necklace (whose wearer was undoubtedly elite). The tell-tale feature that gives away its design origin is the opposed flared middle.
Worn by Pre-Hispanic nobility of the region, such jade tubes and amulets are all copies of such originals seen in the Costa Rican Jade Museum in the capital of San José. The chosen cut of jade for this tube is a dark green with interesting green grey-ish ribbing throughout.
