Canoe Portage Bowl
This most graceful tripod-legged pot – with wetland birds perched on each leg – is a lovely example of these famous, very stylized and exceptionally tall vessels from the Central Valley and Caribbean watershed archeological areas. Most likely, these were ceremonial vessels containing a consecrated fermented corn liquor, or chocolate beverage.
