Life Among Forest Vines
This ‘eco-cultural mask’ composition dramatically depicts an important traditional cosmological notion for Brunka people: that of resident fauna having a dueño (an owner, or care-taking steward). “Life among forest vines” – this composition speaks of a spirit caretaker of the animals of a given ridge, valley or river course.
This ‘ecological mask’ features the magnificent scarlet macaw and two types of trogon bird.
