Description
Malicious diablito Mask
This wood wall mask, carved and painted balsa wood, is a smaller version of the traditional, hand-carved wood diablo mask-type used by the Brunka to represent themselves in their centuries-old Danza de los Diablitos. The detail in the painting and expression on the mask acheived by the mask maker is admirable.
Carved by the renowned Brunka mask maker, Sergio Gonzalez, mask maker of note from Boruca village in the southern Pacific coast watershed.
