Black Panther Energy

This mask, ultimately representing an ancestor, is a valuable piece for its cultural import, as well as having been used throughout the 3 days of the venerable Danza de los Diablitos in Costa Rica’s indigenous Boruca village, 2016-2017. The carving and painting finesse with which this mask was executed is remarkable – a fine example of this tribe’s creative mask making tradition.

Valuable photo-documentation of this historic mask being worn in the ceremony accompanies this piece with purchase.
