Description
Collectable Ismael Gonzalez Traditional Boruca Mask
This ceremonial Brunka mask – carved from the neo-tropical hardwood, cedro, is a classic kagbru rojk (‘diablito’, or little devil, in Spanish). This powerful, yet solemn mask – worn in 2007, during the three days of this venerable tribal event – features a plaintive semblance and a headdress of arrows..
These masks are made specifically for use in the Brunka’s annual tribal ceremony, cleave to a traditional aesthetic and thus, are not designed for the tourist trade.
