Collectible Dolls

These collectible dolls, handmade of split chunga palm leaf and natural dyes by the indigenous Emberá tribe of Panama, features traditionally dressed male and female couple. Only a mother and her daughter of the Emberá community of Sambú make these – they are quite rare and difficult to come by.

This particular male Emberá Indian doll, in full tribal regalia, comes accompanied with a burden basket, as well as his traditional weapons: lance and bow. Across his chest and back are beaded strands crossing the torso. The female figure features a ceremonial crown worn (usually carved from coloured balsa wood) in dances. A very special addition to any doll collection. Note: The price of each doll is $384, and $768 for the pair.
