Woven Plate: Butterfly Study
This particular woven plate has a unique shape and space-conforming composition within the geometric outline: a veritable butterfly study. Further elegance is attained in this design with the light convex curve of this plate and its slightly elongated shape.
These decorative wall plates are made of split chunga palm leaf and natural dyes, reflecting the fine basketry work of the indigenous Emberá tribe of Panama. Design themes are derived from the flora and fauna of their territory in the Darien region of Panama.
