Carved and painted from balsa wood. This evocative fauna-inspired diablito – a boar-jag! – is a homage to these two mythically potent and respected animals of the forests of this tribe’s territory: kurà (jaguar in the Brúnkajk language) – representing utter stealth and deadly hunting tactics – is mixed up in one mask with his worthy prey, sinìk (wild boar).
Mask worn in the Danza de los Diablitos of 2017-2018 in the village of Boruca.
