Scarface: Ceremonial Mask
This ceremonial Brunka mask features a basic and typical Rey Curré village style diablito mask. This veteran mask was used in more than one season’s ceremonial cycle and battlewounds are part of the allure of this well-used “scarface” carved wood mask.
These masks are made specially for use in the Brunka’s annual tribal ceremony and thus not designed for the tourist trade.
All-important photo-documentation accompanies this mask showing the piece being worn in the danza or juego – carved and painted balsa wood. Used in the traditional tribal event, Danza de los Diablitos of 2011-2012 in the village of Rey Curré Costa Rica.
