Traditional Diablo Mask 014

Classic Elegance

Elegant in its simplicity, this hand carved mask’s design corresponds to the traditional diablo mask-type used by the Brunka to represent themselves in their centuries-old Danza de los Diablitos. The antagonist, the toro (bull), represents the invading Spanish. Presented in bone-white, unpainted balsa, and coupled with the serene face, this combination makes for a sublime  tribal mask.  Never far from many of the traditional Brunka diablo wood masks is found a subtle sense of humour too.  Art masks such as these offer unique wall art for business or home decor.
